Bear Basin Adventures is owned by a young, active and responsible husband and wife team by the names of Sarah and Heath Woltman.

Heath was born in Holland Michigan, lived in a suburb of Chicago and starting working in Wyoming at age 14. After working for a dude ranch all through high school he moved to Wyoming full time after graduation. Taking time to work for a horse farm and a cattle ranch between attending the University of Wyoming, Heath continued his learning of horses and the outdoors. A couple of years away from the tourism industry lead Heath back to the Lazy L and B guest ranch to a manager position and running the outfitting end of the ranch.

Given all his experience working in the tourism industry, he is a perfect partner to own and operate Bear Basin Adventures. With youth and ambition on his side, his excitement for the outdoors is infectious. Years of owning, training, feeding and working with horses, specifically putting timid riders on horses and at ease, makes Heath an asset to your vacation.

# Sarah was born in coastal New South Wales, Australia. Her love of riding, horses and all animals started when her grandmother took her to a dude/farm ranch at the age of 10. This started the ball rolling for years of riding vacations and riding lessons along with volunteering and instructing for the Riding for the Disabled Association for many years while gaining a Bachelor of Business degree. A “phase that all young girls have” became a strong passion that could not be pursued while living in coastal Australia.

Being born of an American father, Sarah decided like Heath to go to Wyoming, USA and work on a dude ranch for the summer. She fell in love not only with the country but with a quiet “cowboy” named Heath and decided to stay. Soon after, the two got married and started making plans to start their own business centered around horses, guests, and enjoying backcountry Wyoming – so began Bear Basin Adventures.

Heath guides all the trips with another good friend of theirs and Sarah, who has a full time job in Dubois, joins on some trips and handles most of the bookings and enquiries.
