"Without doubt, the highlight of our family's recent 3-week holiday in the Western USA was the 4 days spent with Heath at Bear Basin. As inexperienced riders, we were matched up with sure-footed and patient horses which allowed us to improve our skills, whilst travelling through breathtaking and, at times, demanding terrain. By the end, we were all posting and loping confidently and really felt at ease on horseback. Meanwhile, the camp at Bear Basin got everything right - simple, comfortable and hospitable, with good food and the best view from any campfire anywhere. There is also great fishing a short walk away, allowing even novice fly fishermen like me to catch fish. Leading and setting the tone for all of this is the courteous, calm and supremely competent figure of Heath, as good a guide as anyone could hope for. The experience of living and riding for a few days in such a pristine and beautiful place is one that will live with us for a long time. We will return."

"The views were stupendous, the horses wonderful, the camp very comfortable, and the food was delicious. And of course, the company, including you and Heath, were the icing on the cake. The only drawback to all of this is I'm not sure I can be content to ride here now. Tell Chris I'll miss not only her cooking, but her jokes!"

"Thank you for a great trip! You did an outstanding job in every respect. We had such a great time! You run a very good operation. We really had no complaints except maybe there was too much food! We will definitely be back."

"I sincerely thank you for making the most enjoyable 5 days and 4 nights better than any cruise I've ever been on! Your planning and thoughtfulness was greatly appreciated, and yours is a first rate operation."

"We all had a great trip. I was in state of depression for about 2 days after coming out of the wilderness...my time in the mountains never seems to be long enough to satisfy my desires. The kids had a wonderful time fishing, riding the horses and just being in nature...kids are very much at home in the wilderness I have found. Your horses are very well trained, have wonderful temperaments, and are clearly very well cared for animals. Priscilla and I appreciate the careful attention paid to the kids well-being on the ride. Your business is very well-run and I look forward to another tip with you."

"I have hunted with a number of guides and guide services. Seldom have I hunted with anyone more attuned to the environment, more sensitive to the limitations/capabilities of the hunter, and at the same time more productive in terms of putting the hunter in position to make a harvest/no harvest decision.

Heath's camp has always been clean and well cared for; riding stock matched nicely with the skills of the hunter; and the food always fresh and well prepared. As long as I can hunt elk, I'll be hunting with Bear Basin Adventures."

"In my dealings with Heath, I have found him to be the most competent guide and outfitter that I have ever hunted with and I have hunted all over the world. His knowledge of the wilderness and his abilities with the horses is unparallel."

"Sarah and Heath offer you a chance to experience and share their passion for the great 'ole West.  The pack trips begin in an oasis in the heart of Wyoming overlooking the Absaroka Mountains and Wind River Ranges.  Your breath is taken away as you ride through the mountains on well-trained, talented horses.  You couldn't ask for a better guide than Sarah.  With her patience and positive demeanor, she brings her experience of working as a wrangler at the Bitterroot Ranch in Dubois, WY and Equitours as a sales representative for domestic and international riding vacations.  Her time spent in her native Australia working with and starting many young horses and developing them into solid, happy dude ranch horses is testimony to how much you will enjoy a trip with Bear Basin Adventures.  Their attention to detail, great horses, organized and well-planned trips, guarantees you'll have a fun time - enjoy!"

"My original contact with Heath began when I, along with my then 12 year old grand-daughter, was a guest at the Wilderness Camp of the Lazy L & B Ranch in Dubois, Wyoming. Heath was the Head Wrangler and also was the wrangler/guide/cook and general chief-in-charge for the 6 days that we were in the Bear Creek Basin area and the Washakie Wilderness.

Heath's skills are many and it was as a direct result of his competence, care and attention to details of safety and comfort for the Wilderness Camp guests, personnel and livestock that my grand-daughter and I have returned to the Wilderness Camp for four years in a row. We have also made plans to return this year and our experiences with Heath are the main reason that we continue to enjoy this.

We have always felt completely safe. We have learned a great deal about the wildlife, the geography, the history and the lifestyle from this gentleman, who is exactly that. I know Heath to be forthright, exact, honest, fair, level-headed, punctual, flexible, intelligent and considerate as well as totally dependable."
