About Us

Thanks for reaching out. We transferred our permits this year and will no longer be operating summer or hunting trips. It has been an amazing 16 years and we value each and every one of you that helped us achieve this dream. What an adventure!

Sarah and Heath Woltman are the vibrant, active, and responsible owners of Bear Basin Adventures in Wyoming.

Heath was born in Holland Michigan, lived in a suburb of Chicago, and starting working in Wyoming at age 14. He moved full-time to Wyoming after graduation. Heath worked for many years at the Lazy L & B guest ranch in Dubois as a head wrangler and manager, running the outfitting end of the ranch.

With youth and ambition on his side, his excitement for the outdoors is infectious. Years of owning, training, shoeing, and working with horses, specifically putting timid riders on horses and at ease, makes Heath an asset to your vacation.

Sarah was born in coastal New South Wales, Australia. Her love of riding, horses, and all animals started when her grandmother took her to a dude/farm ranch at the age of 10. This started the ball rolling for years of riding vacations and riding lessons along with volunteering and instructing for the Riding for the Disabled Association for many years while gaining a Bachelor of Business degree.

Sarah decided to move to Wyoming in 2003 after working on a dude ranch for the summer. She fell in love not only with the country but with a quiet “cowboy” named Heath and decided to stay – so began Bear Basin Adventures. They have two beautiful children- Iris and Cameron, who love joining the trips when they can!
